Saying 10: Fire on the World
I have cast fire on the world, and I am watching over it until it blazes.
Commentary
Luke has the same image but frames it with the cross and a coming baptism of suffering. Thomas leaves the fire unexplained and pairs it with saying 16, where the fire becomes division.
