Saying 91: You Cannot Read This Moment
They ask him to say who he is so they can believe; he replies that they examine the face of the sky and the earth but have not recognised what is in front of them, and do not know how to read this moment.
Commentary
A pointed answer to a request for credentials. The failure is not lack of evidence but lack of attention — the same charge as sayings 5 and 51.
