Saying 34: The Blind Leading the Blind
If a blind person leads a blind person, both of them fall into a pit.
Commentary
In Matthew the blind guides are explicitly the Pharisees. Thomas leaves the target open, which makes the proverb apply to any teacher — including, uncomfortably, the reader’s own.
