Saying 31: No Prophet in His Own Village
No prophet is welcome in his own village; no doctor heals the people who know him.
Commentary
Attested in all four canonical gospels and in the Greek Oxyrhynchus fragment — one of the best-attested sayings of Jesus anywhere, and one where Thomas’s wording is tighter than any of them.
